Chapter 39: The Elixir of Love (II)

Sploosh.

Water ran down her neck. The feverish heat in her chest finally died down somewhat after the shock of cold water.

Plap!

The crisp sound reverberated in the empty public bath as Elsa clapped her hands to her cheeks, in an effort to clear her head.

She’d impulsively bought a problematic potion and even thought of using it on Evie… If she really went through with such an underhanded plan, even she would be disgusted with herself, much less Yvonne.

T-Taking things to the next level should be allowed to happen naturally after both parties had confirmed their feelings for the other… She shouldn’t rush things; she shouldn’t rush things… Elsa repeated this in her head to make herself see the light.

AHHHHH! She couldn’t; she really, really couldn’t! If she actually used that potion, there would be no way to salvage the situation! And there was no telling what would happen under the drug’s influence… She was trying to calm herself down, and yet her face was turning crimson from the succession of steamy images surfacing in her mind.

WAUGHHHHHHH!!! She was such a lost cause!

Elsa poured another basin of cold water over her head to force herself to calm down.

She shouldn’t have bought that sort of potion… but Elsa also had to acknowledge that she was extremely anxious. She could sense that Yvonne didn’t want to shake up how things were between them. If something didn’t change, it would probably only get harder and harder for them to advance in their relationship.

I want to take the next step forward.

That thought had somehow crept up in Elsa’s mind until it was all she could think of.

…And then, as if bewitched, she had purchased the magical drug.

Elsa knew that it sounded like she was simply absolving herself of all wrongdoing. No one would believe her if she told them. Even she was wondering if she had been possessed.

But when her consciousness had mingled with that unfathomable magic, she really had been overtaken by a powerful urge to buy that potion no matter what.

Wahhh, she hadn’t thought that she was this beyond help…!

Elsa pressed the warm hand towel to her face and let out a plaintive wail.

Although she wanted to conceal her feelings, they kept seeping out and crossing the boundary that she rationally knew she should keep. She didn’t even know how she was supposed to act around Yvonne at this rate.

When Elsa invited Yvonne to go with her to the festival, she had actually made up her mind about something. She had planned on confessing during the festival and making sure that her intentions came across loud and clear this time. But with how chaotic her feelings were now, she had slipped back into a state of torturous overthinking where she was too afraid to make a move. That’s just how it was. If every heroine under the sun could unflinchingly act on her feelings, all romance stories would likely be wrapped up in a single page.

This wouldn’t do… She couldn’t keep wallowing in her feelings! Elsa dumped a huge bucket of water onto her head.

At least Evie didn’t know that she’d bought that potion. As long as Elsa disposed of it properly, she could just act as if she’d never bought it!

That’s right, as long as she disposed of it properly…

…AH!

Elsa leapt up after remembering that she had hastily stashed the potion under the pillow, ignoring her towel falling to the ground.

She had to immediately go back and get rid of that thing! If Evie found out she’d bought something like that, she would definitely look at her as if she were a maggot squirming around in the kitchen scraps!!!

When Elsa imagined Yvonne looking at her in revulsion, she broke out into a cold sweat. But at the same time, she also unconsciously swallowed.

Evie being callous was alluring in its own way, too… W-Wait! What in the world was she thinking?! There were more pressing matters at hand; she had to hurry to get rid of that dangerous substance!

“Big sis Elsa’s acting kinda weird…” Having seen the whole ordeal, Annie plopped down next to the wooden bucket and cocked her head in bemusement as she watched Elsa leave.

Earlier, Elsa had used going to the bath merely as an excuse to escape, so she hadn’t even brought a change of clothes.

Barefoot and wrapped in a towel, Elsa uneasily arrived at the door to their room.

She had to appear the same as always on the surface and not do anything to make Evie suspicious…

Hand placed on the door, Elsa sternly reminded herself of this non-stop. Her chest rising and falling, she then took a deep breath and threw the door open.

“Evieee! Let’s sleep together again today!”

Elsa, all smiles as the door opened, purposefully pitched her voice up.

Her lively demeanor soon dissipated. Hearing her, the girl sitting at the side of the bed looked over with somewhat glassy eyes. Silver moonlight entering through the window revealed an abnormal red flush on her face.

It was late at night. Practically nothing could be heard besides the occasional insect noise from outside. In that utter silence, even very slight, quickened breaths could be clearly heard.

Something seemed off about Evie…

“Um, Evie, are you okay…?”

A faint fragrance reached Elsa’s nostrils, and her trepidation magnified. Noticing that something had rolled over to her feet, she looked down and saw the empty bottle on the ground. Realization hit her.

“E-Evie?! You… You opened this bottle? Are you okay? Do you feel unwell at all?!”

“I was curious what sort of perfume you would like… So, I opened it and took a whiff… Ngh, but now I feel, sorta strange… It feels like I’m floating, and it’s kinda hot… I’ll just… take my clothes off…”

“YOU CAN’T DO THAT!” Elsa screeched blushing as she thwarted Yvonne’s attempt at disrobing. In a panic, she used wind magic to open the window, thinking that it might disperse the fragrance permeating every corner of the room.

“Evie, it’s all my fault! I’ll find a way to fix this!”

Holding Yvonne’s feverish hands, Elsa was full of self-reproach at the sight of her drowsy, intoxicated appearance.

“Just lie down for a moment! I’ll get Sister Dahlia. She’s a clergy member and knows purification magic, so she should be able to undo the potion’s effects!”

However, just as Elsa was about to move away, her wrist was caught in a vice grip.

“…Don’t leave,” mumbled Yvonne, sounding like she was sleep-talking. She pulled Elsa back onto the bed.

Sweltering heat contacted Elsa’s skin as she was pressed down by Yvonne. When she saw how close Yvonne’s face was, her eyes widened and her heart rate accelerated.

Was this due to the magic potion? Elsa had to have inhaled some of its fumes too, after coming in. Was that why she’d started having this reaction?

Diffused in the air, the pale purple drug gave off a wondrous smell.

The faint fragrance resembled the scent of some flower, but was also somewhat different.

Just breathing it in was enough to make her body heat up.

“Elsa, you smell wonderful…”

Yvonne’s heated exhalations brushed right against her face. Elsa did her best to stop herself from faltering and turned her head. She attempted to reach the small part of Yvonne that was still rational.

“Um, Evie! I’m extremely open to you getting so up close and personal! But I’d still rather you do this when you’re clearheaded!”

She tried to push Yvonne off, but the other girl had her firmly pressed down on the bed like a jūjutsu master. She couldn’t move an inch.

“Elsa… Can I see what you taste like?”

“Y-You can’t- Evieee, ahhh…”

Her fingers slid between Elsa’s legs. Elsa almost cried out. She had never dreamed of anything as stimulating as this even in her wildest fantasies. But now, it was too late for regrets.

Elsa tried her hardest to think of something to say, but just being held by Yvonne was making her blush up a storm. She was so nervous that she couldn’t speak.

Those beautiful fingers were playing with her hair. She could see that her fingernails were also neatly trimmed.

She’d heard that it was the fashion among some younger noble gentlewomen to keep their nails long and decorate them with expensive jewels, but it appeared that Yvonne didn’t do so.

In Elsa’s imagination, she should be the one leading these sorts of activities, yet somehow the current situation was the exact opposite of that.

Immersed in the fragrant sweetness, Elsa felt herself slowly losing the will to resist.

Something soft pressed against her chest, and a pair of silky arms wrapped around her neck. Elsa’s heart rate subsequently spiked to its maximum.

When they were this close, she almost felt as if she could feel every part of Yvonne with her whole body and soul.

Even the air Yvonne breathed out was caressing Elsa’s lips.

Her warmth, her breath, her heartbeat…

If they kept locking eyes like this, it almost felt as if Elsa would be swallowed up in the depths of her eyes.

She felt like a limp puddle of goo that was dissolving in the gentle embrace enfolding her.

The smell and taste of Elsa was a pleasant sweetness.

Yvonne dimly noted that as she greedily lapped at the skin around Elsa’s neck.

The thin layer of sweat that had formed from the heat made Elsa’s skin appear translucent. At some point, a light rosy blush had appeared on her body. She looked remarkably scrumptious, like a sweet dessert made out of sticky rice.

Her quivering was so cute.

The sounds she made when she was touched were also adorable.

Why hadn’t Yvonne ever noticed before?

That a girl this lovable had been with her the whole time…?

I want to eat her.

Could she just eat her right now?

In that instant, bolstered by magic, some part of Yvonne that had been continuously repressed reared its head. She wanted to make Elsa hers.
